Douglass Grange, in partnership with People and Pay Services Limited, specialise in and offer a comprehensive yet personalised payroll service to Schools, Academies and other education based establishments ranging from 5 employees to 200+.

We have been successfully working together, providing the complete HR and Payroll service across Lancashire and offer outstanding customer care. 

Together, we have a wealth of experience in dealing with local councils, TPS, LGPS and all they involve, including for example Kiddi-vouchers and cycle schemes.

We are one of only a few Payroll providers with a BACS Bureau License in Lancashire so, if you are looking for a dedicated HR/Payroll team of reliable, approachable and proactive individuals who will do more than just respond to your needs, to work alongside you and help you succeed, you have come to the right place!

What you need to do…

...simply ring and ask for the Payroll Manager for Schools.  We will talk you through the whole process.  It’s not as daunting as you think! 

A designated contact will be assigned to you and will guide you through everything.

Schools need to be or become an own bank account organisation, but if you are not already in control of your own account, we can guide you through that process too.

SECURITY & CONFIDENTIALITY ASSURED!

Your Service Level Agreement (SLA) will be agreed in advance, you will know what the fees will be and this will enable you to manage your budget effectively.

We take care of everything . . . .

Identification of individual employees’ pay-rates by reference to Salaries documentation and/or contracts of employment.

Recognition of salary increments and increases.

Calculation of all types of salary deductions including income tax, national insurance, pension contributions, student loan repayments, attachments of earnings, Unison, childcare costs etc.

Processing of Holiday Pay deductions and payments as instructed by you.

Provision of payroll reports for financial management purposes and for reconciling to budgets analysed by departments as specified by you.

Provision of monthly paper security payslips and a pdf copy to the SBM.

Preparation of all forms, including P45 for leavers.

Full payment submissions on a monthly basis to HMRC as required by RTI regulations.

Submission of monthly and annual pension return forms.

Preparation and submission of a BACS file(s) for the transmission of net salaries, PAYE, Pension Contributions etc. from your bank account. 

Ensure full compliance with Auto-enrolment legislation.

As an approved BACS bureau, we are required to meet meticulous quality requirements developed by BACS

The DG Payroll team:

Between them our team have built up many years’ experience in HR and Payroll.   We also have the advantage that two members worked previously for LCC for a number of years, bringing with them an added wealth of knowledge and ideas relating to Schools’ payrolls and all they entail.

For quality assurance and control and as part of compliance with BACS control procedures, each monthly payroll is subjected to final authorisation by Julie McDonald, FCCA, Practice Manager.
Other team members are also trained to ensure all administration is completed accurately and on time.
