Douglass Grange Chartered Accountants was formed in 2006 following the successful merger of two well-established East Lancashire practices. With experience dating back over half a century, our dedicated team provides a comprehensive range of consultancy and compliance services both to individual and corporate clients.

Meet the Senior Management Team

Anthea Grange, FCA

Principal

Anthea qualified in 1985 whilst working for a medium-sized practice in Manchester, following three years training at a firm in Burnley. She entered into partnership in 1992 in this practice.

During the years as a principal she has seen several changes in name and partners and remains committed to the future of the firm.

Anthea specialises in the provision of business advisory services and taxation matters. She works with a wide range of businesses including those operating in the retail, motor and construction industries. She also advises numerous regulated sectors organisations including solicitors.

Ben Moffat, ACCA

Senior Manager

With over 20 years experience, Ben has a wide range of experience across multiple sectors. An early adopter of cloud accounting, he’s a certified advisor on Quickbooks and Xero and has advanced knowledge of accounting software products.

A qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, Ben has provided advice and guidance that has helped business of all types and sizes, including start-ups and long-established family businesses.

In addition to providing business advice that helps businesses become more profitable, Ben also advises Douglass Grange’s clients on personal tax, including inheritance tax, capital gains and wealth management.

Julie McDonald, FCCA

Practice Manager

Julie began her accountancy career in 1983 and qualified in 1995. After gaining a wealth of experience in accountancy practices in the North West she joined the firm in 2002.

Julie has over 20 years experience of providing full accountancy support, start up and planning advice to a variety of businesses, including corporate and non-corporate entities, working closely with our clients to help them achieve their goals.

Her wide-ranging expertise includes year end financial reporting, management accounting, budgets and cash flow forecasting and advice on payroll matters. Her knowledge of Sage and other accounting software enables her to provide appropriate advice to clients.

Paul Langhorn

Ian Wilson

Tax Manager

Ian has almost 40 years experience working in the field of personal taxation, 10 of which he served as a tax officer in Manchester and Salford London Provincial tax offices before moving into accountancy practice.

Ian specialises in all aspects of personal tax compliance and planning and enjoys working closely with clients to provide the most tax efficient guidance where required.

In his own time he enjoys experimenting with foreign cuisine and impossible Jigsaw puzzles.

Josie May

Portfolio Manager

Josie joined Holden & Company in 1985, she looks after our client portfolio advising them on all aspects of their tax and financial affairs. Josie is also responsible for the firms software systems, enabling the firm to operate at maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Michelle Weir

Accounts Senior

Michelle joined us in 2011 and is a qualified accounting technician helping clients with their tax and accountancy affairs. She also manages the VAT, payroll and book-keeping services for our clients in Longridge.
